Director/Founder Bull City Yoga Festival and the Bull City Yoga Teacher Collective, E-RYT-500

Ingrid created the Bull City Yoga Festival with the intention to bring together the diverse yoga teachers in Durham and the surrounding area.

My goal is to develop healthy life skills with yoga, educate and empower others with health, wellness and the benefits of yoga.

Ingrid discovered yoga at her local gym in 2009.  As an elementary Professional School Counselor, I was inspired to pursue my yoga teacher training to teach my students with emotional and behavioral diagnosis how to use yoga to calm down when they get angry and frustrated. Teaching yoga in the classroom supports the social and emotional learning and self-regulation for all children.

Ingrid is an advanced yoga teacher 500-ERYT, she completed her yoga teacher training with Radiant Child Family Yoga-Kundalini Yoga, Mind Body Centering-Yoga for Mental Health, Yoga Skills-Kemetic Yoga, Lifeologic-Psychotherapeutic Yoga. Ingrid is also a Master Level Reiki Practitioner, and has several certifications in teaching yoga to children.  In 2009 Ingrid is the owner of Wytha Balance Yoga – Counseling LLC the first Black women owned yoga studio in Durham, NC.  She is the founder of the Bull City Yoga Festival,  in 2018.  In 2023 she started the Bull City Yoga Teacher Collective.

“My favorite tea is Lavender and Chamomile!  It relaxes me and calms my mind and body after a long day.  I like to travel and go to the beach.  My favorite place to visit is Charleston, SC.  My favorite color is purple, which means royalty!  My dream is to one day visit my son and daughter in-love in Japan!”

She has been featured in various magazines and newpapers: Durham Voice, Schedulicity Business, VoyageRaleigh and Yoga Magazine.

“Yoga allows me to find peace within and when I am on my yoga mat, I feel grounded, centered, love for my self.  Yoga has taught me to go within and to take care of myself, self-care is important to me!  When planting seeds for the Bull City Yoga Festival, my intention was to bring together yoga teachers and yogis of all ethnic backgrounds, cultures and ages in the Durham community.  ”
